This 1909-11 T206 Deacon Phillippe has been graded SGC 3 VG and carries a Piedmont back. The T206 "White Border" set, distributed by the American Tobacco Company, is one of the most celebrated pre-war issues in the hobby. The SGC 3 VG grade reflects moderate corner and surface wear, while the card retains solid eye appeal for a tobacco issue more than a century old. The front features lithographed artwork framed by the set's signature white border.

Deacon Phillippe was a star pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, starting five games and winning three in the first modern World Series in 1903. He was also a member of Pittsburgh's 1909 World Series champions.
