This 1986 Super Canasta Basketball Michael Jordan Rookie is graded SGC 1.5 FR. Super Canasta was a Mexican regional issue distributed with confectionery products, and surviving Jordan examples from the set are seldom seen, making this an unusual rookie-era piece for advanced Jordan collectors.
Michael Jordan helped North Carolina win the 1982 NCAA title before the Chicago Bulls drafted him 3rd overall in 1984. With the Bulls he won six NBA championships, six Finals MVPs, five MVP awards, ten scoring titles, and 14 All-Star nods, before finishing with the Washington Wizards. He also won Olympic gold in 1984 and 1992. Jordan is a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (HOF) inductee (2009). Over his career, he averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game, the highest scoring average in NBA history.
