This 1987 Bellingham Mariners Team Issue Ken Griffey Jr. #15 has earned a PSA 10 Gem Mint grade. Issued during Griffey’s first professional season with Seattle’s short-season affiliate, this minor league card predates his famous 1989 rookies, and gem mint examples are a prized early piece for Griffey collectors.
Ken Griffey Jr. starred at Moeller High School in Cincinnati before the Seattle Mariners selected him 1st overall in the 1987 MLB Draft. He also played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox, hitting 630 home runs, winning the 1997 AL MVP award, 10 Gold Gloves, and 13 All-Star selections. Griffey is a National Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) inductee (2016).
