BGS subgrades: Centering 9.5 · Corners 9 · Edges 9.5 · Surface 9.5
This 2003 Upper Deck Exclusives LeBron James Rookie #1 has earned a BGS 9.5 Gem Mint grade. Exclusives were the scarcer, limited-distribution versions of Upper Deck’s base cards, and this rookie-season LeBron is a strong gem mint piece for collectors of his first-year cardboard.
LeBron James starred at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron before going 1st overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA Draft. He went on to play for the Miami Heat, returned to Cleveland, and later joined the Los Angeles Lakers, winning four NBA championships, four MVP awards, and four Finals MVPs with more than 20 All-Star selections. He is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with a clear Hall of Fame (HOF) trajectory.
