Offered here is a 1909-11 T206 Gabby Street Portrait with a Piedmont back, encapsulated and graded SGC 3 VG by SGC. Distributed in cigarette packs between 1909 and 1911, T206 is widely regarded as the cornerstone of vintage baseball card collecting, and every example tells a story of more than a century of survival. Its original artwork and honest vintage character make it a welcome addition to any early baseball collection.
Gabby Street was the Washington Senators catcher who handled a young Walter Johnson and famously caught a baseball dropped from the Washington Monument in 1908. He later managed the St. Louis Cardinals to the 1931 World Series title.
