This 1993 SP Foil Derek Jeter Rookie #279 has earned a BGS 9.5 Gem Mint grade. The 1993 SP foil front is among the most condition-sensitive designs of the decade, prone to chipping and surface wear, so Gem Mint copies of Jeter's flagship rookie are a true high-grade highlight for serious baseball collectors.
Derek Jeter was drafted 6th overall by the New York Yankees in 1992 out of Kalamazoo Central High School. He spent all 20 seasons in pinstripes, winning five World Series titles, the 1996 AL Rookie of the Year, and the 2000 World Series MVP, with 14 All-Star selections and 3,465 hits. Jeter is a National Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) inductee (2020).
