This 1909-11 T206 Wild Bill Donovan Throwing with its Piedmont back has been graded SGC 4 VGEX. Known among collectors as The Monster, the T206 tobacco set features more than 500 cards and remains the most celebrated pre-war baseball issue. This survivor from the dead-ball era is a solid addition for set builders and anyone collecting original early twentieth-century baseball cardboard. The SGC holder protects the card and makes it simple to display.
Wild Bill Donovan was the ace of the Detroit Tigers staff that won three straight American League pennants from 1907 to 1909. After his playing days he managed the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.
