Derek Jeter's Top 15 Baseball Cards of All Time
Posted by Vinnie Rullo on Oct 22nd 2026
Derek Jeter spent all 20 of his seasons with the New York Yankees. He won five World Series titles, made 14 All-Star teams, won the 1996 AL Rookie of the Year and the 2000 World Series MVP, and finished with 3,465 hits. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) in 2020, named on 396 of 397 ballots. These are the 15 Jeter cards we think matter most, from his high school prospect cards to the 1993 SP.
1. 1992 Little Sun High School Prospects Autograph

Little Sun's High School Prospects set pictured Jeter before he played a professional game, and the signed version is limited to 250 copies. It is one of the earliest certified Jeter autographs and a centerpiece for advanced Jeter collectors.
2. 1992 Little Sun High School Prospects (Unsigned)

The unsigned version of the Little Sun card uses the same design and is a more attainable way to own one of Jeter's very first cards. Like many small-issue sets from the early 1990s, clean high-grade copies are hard to find.
3. 1993 SP Foil #279 Rookie Card

The 1993 SP #279 is Jeter's most important rookie card. Its foil front chips and scratches easily, so gem copies are scarce compared with the number printed, and the gap between a PSA 9 and a PSA 10 is enormous. PSA 10 copies have sold for well into six figures: PWCC sold one privately for $690,000, and another brought $340,736 at Memory Lane's Summer Rarities auction in 2025.
4. 1996 Leaf Signature Series Autograph

Leaf Signature Series was one of the first products to promise an on-card autograph in every pack. Jeter's first-series autograph comes in Bronze (700 copies), Silver (200) and Gold (100) versions, and it arrived during his 1996 Rookie of the Year season.
5. 1992 Front Row Draft Picks Autograph #55

Front Row's 1992 Draft Picks set captured Jeter right after the Yankees took him sixth overall out of Kalamazoo Central High School. The signed version is an early certified autograph from his draft year.
6. 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold #100

Mirror Gold is the rarest of the 1996 Select Certified parallels, with a reported print run of about 30 copies. The mirror-foil surface is extremely fragile, which makes a PSA 10 like this one exceptionally rare.
7. 1993 Upper Deck #449 Gold Hologram

Most 1993 Upper Deck cards carry a silver hologram on the back. The gold-hologram version came only in a small share of factory sets, about one in fifteen, making it the scarcer version of Jeter's Upper Deck rookie.
8. 1993 Classic Best Greensboro Hornets #1

This minor league card comes from Jeter's 1993 season with the Class A Greensboro Hornets. Minor league cards were printed in far smaller numbers than mainstream sets, and this one is a favorite with collectors who chase his path to the Bronx.
9. 1994 Albany-Colonie Yankees Yearbook Card

Jeter moved through Double-A Albany-Colonie in 1994 on his way to the majors. This yearbook card was a team-issued item rather than a pack card, and it is one of the scarcer Jeter minor league pieces.
10. 1993 Stadium Club Murphy #117

The Stadium Club Murphy set was sold only as a special boxed set, separate from regular 1993 Stadium Club. The full-bleed photo and glossy finish make it one of the best-looking Jeter rookies.
11. 1993 Topps Inaugural Marlins #98

Topps marked the first seasons of the Marlins and Rockies with special factory sets carrying a team emblem on every card. The Marlins version of Jeter's #98 rookie is far scarcer than the regular Topps card.
12. 1992 Classic Four Sport Autograph (/1,125)

Classic's Four Sport set mixed draft picks from football, basketball, hockey and baseball, and its autographs were hand-numbered. Jeter's is numbered to 1,125 and is one of the most popular early Jeter autographs.
13. 2009 SP Authentic Buyback Autograph (/93)

Upper Deck bought back original 1993 Jeter rookies, had him sign them, and numbered each to 93. It is the closest thing to a signed version of his classic Upper Deck rookie straight from the manufacturer.
14. 1994 Signature Rookies Autograph

Signature Rookies built its sets around signed cards of prospects, and Jeter's serial-numbered autograph is a more affordable way to own a certified signature from before his debut.
15. 1993 Topps #98 Rookie Card

The base 1993 Topps #98 is the most widely collected Jeter rookie. It is easy to find in mid grades, and PSA 10 copies remain a popular, accessible target for Yankees collectors.
